Application
Photo-journalism is like a time machine, as you can take an image of a moment in time. it also used to be the truth. People used to rely on photos, hense the saying "The camera never lies" But that is no longer the case because of technology today. Henri Cartier - Bresson is a famous photographer for his decisive photos. He would go to a place and visualise the possibilities of what could occur. He would then wait for something to happen and get a shot of it.
Context
photo-journalism is used in magazines, News, Books and the Internet. Images are used in these for advertising or evidence to back up a story.
Technology & Techniques
Henri Cartier - Bresson used a reveloutionary camera called the Leica. This camera was small and portable. Robert Capa also used this camera when he was taking pictures during the war. Tony Vaccaro was issued a Speed graphic camera which was the standard kind of camera for a photographer soldier but this was inconvenient. as it was ridiculously large. He was not as wealthy as Robert Capa so he could not afford a Leica camera so instead he bought an Argus C3.
